Project Consultant

The Lough Carra Catchment Association (LCCA) is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and highly organised Project Consultant on a fixed, part-term, self-employed contract basis to support the delivery of key communications and education initiatives focused on improving water quality and protecting catchment habitats within the Lough Carra Catchment. This is a varied and rewarding opportunity to make a tangible environmental impact while fostering strong community engagement and supporting the effective and sustainable operation of the organisation.

Role Overview

Join us in safeguarding the future of Lough Carra and strengthening community stewardship of this unique and valuable ecosystem. The successful candidate will lead and support on-the-ground project delivery, with a strong focus on:

  • Community engagement, education and awareness
  • Communications and outreach
  • Strategic planning support and corporate partnerships
  • Fundraising and organisational development

They will also play a central role in managing the day-to-day operations of the LCCA and ensuring delivery of the LCCA Education Plan 2025–2029. A full job description is available here

Location: Belcarra Community Centre, Belcarra, Co. Mayo
Contract Type: Consultancy (details to be agreed)

Value: €28,000
Start Date: June/July 2026 on a fixed-term, part-time, self employed contract until November 2026 (with potential for extension depending on funding).
