On 29th August 2017, Michael Kingdon of Moorehall, recorded one specimen of the fungus weevil (Platystomos Albinus) – see photo below. Michael has submitted this record to the National Biodiversity Centre and is awaiting verification. This is a very unusual sighting. Lough Carra Trout Anglers Association 2018 AGM will be held at Rocky’s Pub, Castlebar on 11 April 2018 at 8pm.

On 18th April at 7.30pm at the Village Inn, Partry there will be a meeting of the newly formed Lough Carra Catchment Association. All are welcome to attend and take part. Your support is appreciated for this new venture which is in association with the Water Communities Officer.

There will be a second meeting of the Lough Carra Catchment Association on Wednesday 16th of May 2018 at 7:30pm in the Carnacon Community Centre. All are welcome to attend and participate. Please spread the word!
Lough Carra Trout Anglers will be holding their Mayfly Competition on Sunday 20th of May 2018 – fishing from 11am. Registration is at Carra Lodge between 9:30am and 10:30am on the day. Membership is €30, junior membership €5 and entry fee is €20. Own boat arrangements.
